I originally come from Hue City, Vietnam where was recognized as having international importance and was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1993. I have also been a lecturer teaching environmental economics in Hue College of Economics since 1998. I earned my Master of Arts in sustainable development from Chiang Mai University, Thailand funded by Ford Foundation.
I got my Ph.D. from the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute (NZTRI), faculty of Applied Humanities, Auckland University of Technology. My research proposal is titled “ Economic Instruments and environmental Management for Sustainable Tourism Development, the Case of Thua Thien-Hue, Vietnam”. This study attempted to incorporate the sustainable tourism principles and economic institutional instruments into tourism planning and management with emphasis on sustainability as a plan or strategy.
