Consultant worldwide on ecotourism (environmental impact assessments, GIS and remote sensing, facility & site design, marketing appraisals, guide training, historic/cultural interpretation, environmental education and curriculum development).

 

Research Interests

Focus on sustainable tourism and indigenous community development in protected areas.

Research grants include a Fulbright lecture/research award in ecotourism and forestry in Uganda (1997-98)
Curriculum Development on Cambodia and Thailand through the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program (1999)

Fulbright Specialist Grants in Ecotourism Training & Marketing in the Caribbean (2001) and Armenia (2002).


Invited keynote speaker at international tourism conferences, including:
Educational Travel Conference (2002);
The 6th Greater Mekong Subregional Conference, Asian Development Bank/Pacific-Asia Travel Association, K'unming, China (2001);
"Healing Waters" Conference, New Zealand, July 2000, and
