2009 Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge Economic Impact Study
Commissioned by www.eventscapital.co.nz - an economic impact study of the 2009 event held on 28 November involving online surveys of Cycle Challenge participants and local Taupo businesses. The surveys were very successful – we received 2808 participant responses and 75 from businesses. The final report was sent to the client on Friday, 29 January.
AUT Māori Expo 2009 Audience Survey
AUT Maori Expo: NZTRI conducted an audience survey at this year’s AUT Maori Expo which was held on Thursday 27 August. 303 ‘clipboard’ surveys were collected. The survey looked at getting a clearer picture of Expo attendees and to better understand the value that the Expo brings to the AUT brand.

Geoff Dickson warns NZ about Rugby World Cup
Dr Geoff Dickson, associate director at NZTRI, has suggested in an interview in the NZ Herald that New Zealand should find ways to minimise the World Cup's divisive potential.
Dr Dickson, who is leading the development of a World Cup research advisory board at AUT, said a large number of "new" New Zealanders were from non-rugby backgrounds - in particular the growing number of immigrants from countries such as China, India and Korea - and may struggle to connect or identify with the "New Zealand equals rugby" message that will most likely become overwhelming by 2011.
