New Zealand Teenage Girls, Identity and Travel
Studying New Zealand teenage girls in their choices of leisure and travel activities, this project explores issues of teenagers as a powerful market force in tourism. It also explores broader issues of gender, teenage identity and the commodification of ‘coolness’.

New Zealand Centre for SME Research
In 2003 a team of researchers in the centre started a six-year longitudinal study of New Zealand Small and Medium Enterprises. Phase One of the project was the study “SMEs in NZ: Lifecycles and Transition” (from which several outputs have been and continue to be generated. Phase Two will be conducted in 2004 where Candice Harris will be involved in the following project:

GRITS Network
The GRITS Network was founded in 2003 in collaboration between the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute (Auckland University of Technology) and the Welsh Centre for Tourism Research ( University of Wales Institute).

This study focuses on resident use of Local and Premier Parks in Auckland City, and also examines what Auckland City residents feel about urban parks and how they influence quality of life.
Takapuna Market: Characteristics, Use & Perceptions
NZTRI was commissioned by North Shore City Council to complete a study of the Takapuna Markets. The objectives were to better understand the visitors to the market, the structure and make-up of the market suppliers, to gain a picture of stallholder and retailer perceptions of the market, and to provide recommendations on future opportunities to develop the market as a tourism product.
