The Auckland Visiting Friends & Relatives Market (VFR)
Prepared for Tourism Auckland in 2004 with funding from the Sky City Community Trust, this study examined the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) market in Greater Auckland. The project included a literature review, and qualitative and quantitative primary data collection.
Orewa Beach Reef Charitable Trust – Beach Users Survey and Economic Development Implications
This project involved determining the profile of users of Orewa Beach, (north of Auckland), a preliminary indication of the economic benefits of the beach to the local community, and perceptions as to the support for development of an artificial surf reef at the beach. A survey of 460 beach users was conducted during February and March 04.
Atlantic Canada Tourism Research: Analysis of the effectiveness and performance of a web portal
NZTRI, in partnership with Intervale Consultants, were commissioned in April 2004 to provide an audit of the effectiveness and performance of the Atlantic Outdoor Adventure Partnership Web - www.atlanticoutdoors.com. The Website is designed to promote soft adventure experiences and accommodation. The focus of the audit is on how well the website aligns with and satisfies both potential client and business member requirements.
Travel Agent Participation in Biosecurity Awareness
A follow on survey from one conducted in 2002 to investigate the role of travel agents in promoting bio security awareness to returning travellers. Following on from a communications strategy implemented by MAF based on results of the initial survey, the latest survey measures the success of MAF’s programme with travel agents. A web based survey was emailed to a database of over 800 travel agents throughout the country, and 214 responses received.
