Carolyn Deuchar - Senior Research Officer

Carolyn Nodder is a PhD candidate and Senior Research Officer at NZTRI. She joined the Institute in 2005 after several years of working with NZTRI on a variety of publications and projects. Carolyn’s work experience includes 12 years in the New Zealand Travel and Tourism industry, where she has gained a rich insight into the effective application of new technologies in the aviation, travel agency and tourism sectors.

Tina Buch - Research Officer

Tina has been working on a variety of projects since joining NZTRI in 2005. Tina’s research interests focus on events and festivals, in particular the relationships between events and the community; social, cultural, environmental and economic impacts. Tina also spent five years working at Copenhagen Airport, Denmark which has provided her with a good understanding of the travel and tourism industry.

Suzanne Histen - Research Officer
Suzanne joined the NZTRI team in 2007 after six years working in a variety of roles within the College of Business, Massey University, Albany. Part of Suzanne’s role involves co-ordinating the Internship programme and Co-op student placements here at the Institute, which are both very popular with international and domestic students alike. Suzanne is also actively involved in a variety of projects undertaken by NZTRI and has a particular research interest in sustainable tourism development.

Francisca Siew - Accounts Administrator
Francisca manages the financial and administrative tasks within the institute. Currently doing her Bachelor of Business and Graduate Diploma at AUT majoring in accounting and IT.

Nathaniel Dobbin - Research Officer / Web Team

Nathaniel is a web developer with interests in design and technology. He also works on various research projects.

 

Pascal Languillon - Research Officer / Web Team

Pascal joined the institute in January 2010. He is currently undertaking his PhD at NZTRI. He is an expert in sustainable tourism with a special interest in luxury ecotourism. He is also the owner of www.voyagespourlaplanete.com, France's leading responsible travel website He now supervises the development of the NZTRI website and works on various research projects.
