Simon Milne participated in International Roundtable on Tourism in Reunion Island

NZTRI Director Simon Milne was invited to participate in an international roundtable on Tourism as leverage for socio-economic development in Reunion Island (France) organised by INTA in partnership with the Regional Council of Reunion Island, and Ile de La Réunion Tourisme on 27-30 November 2011. 

The International Roundtable focused on how to built on the many pillars of sustainable development the favourable conditions for reconciling public support, environmental protection and economic development of La Reunion. Foreign experiences and the presence of international experts allowed comparisons helping to outline practical guidelines to be implemented, some of them in a short term, others by 2015 and facilitated to anticipate future developments.

9 experts de l’INTA (International Urban Development Association) sont dans l’île depuis samedi à l’invitation de la Région Réunion. Durant 4 jours, ils participeront à des tables rondes aux côtés des professionnels et institutionnels locaux afin d’apporter leur éclairage sur la stratégie à mettre en œuvre au niveau touristique.
