Kiwitrails – FRST Maori Collectives Scheme

This year long FRST funded project focussed on enhancing the capabilities of www.kiwitrails.co.nz. KiwiTrails - a website promoting the East Cape region as a visitor destination, providing a support tool for small tourism operators, and representing a resource for local communities. The website was built on innovative open-source software that allows businesses belonging to the site to create, manage and update their own business’ listing, at no cost, whenever they like. It is about creating links between tourism businesses in the region to strengthen and support networks. Two series of workshops around the region were conducted by NZTRI and generated great feedback and input into the website. The Kiwitrails website is no longer ‘live’.
