Tim West-Newman on User interactions with destination marketing websites
Tim's research in 2006 studied how users interacted with travel destination website, newzealand.com and evaluated their impressions of New Zealand after visiting this site. His findings were that people identified NZ through the marketing of New Zealand on this site as being a very "hands on" destination as opposed to destinations like Europe where people went for cultural experiences. Tim's findings on backpackers found that backpackers identified strongly as 'backpackers' and not 'tourists' but that much marketing was aimed at 'tourists' who had money for tourist packages and products. Tims research on narrative, authenticity, and self suggests that people place themselves as protagonists in a story when consuming media, that they consume others stories, and that these stories allow people to explore different aspects of their identity/self.

The future of internet
Submitted by Anonymous website user on Fri, 23/10/2009 - 01:03.The future of internet marketing is also murky, but teasingly interesting. Google was beloved by all for a long time, but is less so now. However you may feel, there is little doubt Google is breaking into new areas at a rapid clip and will probably set the mark on new internet marketing platforms for the foreseeable future. Google’s latest effort to tie its online platforms to newspaper classified ads and the kiosks in malls represent just the start of something completely new.
