Niue Visitor Departure Survey June to October 2008
In mid-2007 NZTRI and the Government of Niue signed an MOU outlining an ongoing program of research designed to improve the performance of the local tourism industry. One key aspect of this agreement was the development of an ongoing visitor departure barometer designed to measure the performance of the tourism industry. The goal of the barometer is to better understand the characteristics and expectations of visitors and the economic benefits they bring to Niue. The aim is also to identify ways in which the tourism sector can improve its performance in enhancing the visitor experience and also in generating income, jobs and sustainable livelihoods for Niuean residents.
