| NZTRI’s event tourism research programme area sets out to conduct internationally recognised multidisciplinary research that adds value to industry, the professionals that work within it and the communities that they serve. | |
Areas of interest include:
- Working with individuals, communities, small businesses and local government to develop research tools to assist in the planning and management of event tourism related activities
- micro-events in non-urban settings
- participant satisfaction, service quality & behavioural intentions (including sponsorship purchase intentions) of event participants
- economic, social and environmental impact of events on host communities
- community engagement and host community attitudes towards events
- volunteer management
