Undergraduates: Co-op placement
NZTRI welcomes undergraduate students across various disciplines including travel and tourism, marketing, management and international business to complete their Co-op experience at the NZTRI. Students will be working in a nurturing work environment with a great supervisor to support them in completing their Co-op.
Students working at NZTRI will get the opportunity to establish relationships with important business clients and stakeholders. They will have an opportunity to become involved in project management as well as expand their knowledge about New Zealand 's business practices. Students will be able to significantly improve their research and analytical skills as well as master the use of Microsoft Software applications such as word and excel.
As research assistants, students will be given research tasks to practice and develop their research skills and the opportunity to apply their classroom theory and knowledge to the real world. Students will develop the capabilities of critical and conceptual thinking, and gain a better insight and perspective of the tourism industry.
Completing Co-operative education at the NZTRI will allow students to:
- Complete work that is of value to the NZTRI
- Understand and fulfil workplace expectations
- Become an effective member of an organisation
- Grow in maturity, self-awareness and confidence
- Understand the relationships between theory and business practice
- Begin to develop professional judgement
- Increase and develop their interests, aptitudes and abilities in a business environment

While undertaking COOP at the NZTRI undergraduates will:
